Eclipse in China

In preparation for OSSummit Asia, I’ve been gathering information for the Eclipse Foundation on companies that use Eclipse software. I’m almost done with my research, but I’ve been surprised in how little I’ve found. There’s a Chinese Eclipse Forum (warning: site throws javascript errors in Safari and Firefox) and I’ve heard reports from some people that usage is growing. Certainly, lots of Chinese students and developers use Eclipse as an IDE. But beyond that, developing Eclipse plugins and RCP based apps appears more rare in China than the US and Europe.
